The months prior to this were not documented. Now we have a plan and a strategy for accomplishing our goals: Roadmap

2011.04

  • (DONE) get access to all domain name and hosting accounts at present from neeru and nathan kinkade
    • get google analytics account access and setup weekly on monday report
  • (DONE) setup a new linode.com account on smallest account
  • (DONE) move site to new hosting, already talked with nathan kinkade at CC and he will help
  • (DONE) setup launchpad bug and feature tracker for the entire project, expose on site
    • decided against this now, since we have mediawiki bug tracking, but have the accounts reserved Jon Phillips 18:17, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
  • (DONE) Design an updated theme from the new logo (have 3 already from neeru)
    • NOTE: We decided to use default mediawiki vector theme Jon Phillips 18:15, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
    • Coordinate with Neeru, and implement

  • tracking bugs admin task
    • Make it easy for the community to track bug reports (christopher)
      • Create a bugs@acawiki.org email account; sign-up this account to the mailing list(Jon Phillips)
      • Sign up bugs@acawiki.org for a Bugzilla account (christopher)
      • Set up 'whining' to email a bug summary to bugs@acawiki.org once per week (christopher)
      • Set up a filter on bugs@acawiki.org to forward these reports to the mailing list (christopher)
      • Configure mailing list to accept the emails
        • Under Recipient Filters add bugs@acawiki.org as an alias name for the list.
        • Add bugzilla-daemon@wikimedia.org to List of non-member addresses whose postings should be automatically accepted.
      • Ask Bugzilla admin if we can CC all AcaWiki bugs to acawiki-general@lists.ibiblio.org by default (Jon Phillips)
  • chat and mailing list focus, and social networks (christopher)
    • is there a clear way people can get involved in discussions and onto irc?
    • add to the left sidebar links to [AcaWiki:Communications]] and to the identica, twitter, facebook, linkedin pages.

  • provide analysis and execution of announcement about places whom would be interested in this and acawiki

    • contacting media studies professors to get their students to write summaries for their classes ( I attached a list here)
    • reach out to science bloggers who are already writing summaries
    • somehow getting high school students to request papers to drive demand (can then individually email high profile scholars
    • contacting high profile scholars to contribute summaries (and telling them high school students want access to their papers)
