Summary

Neurogenesis occurs in the adult human brain upon brain insults. Multipotent cells in the subventricular zone (SVZ) and hippocampus hilus are known to migrate through the rostral migratory stream (RMS) to the olfactory bulb (OB) and differentiate into astrocytes and neurons.
