STOP SOPA ☣ STOP RWA
Two bills are making their way through the U.S. Congress that would have highly negative consequences for AcaWiki and the public good. Please take action against both.
Many large sites are blacked out January 18 to spur action against SOPA. Visit americancensorship.org to take action against this bill, which is a censorship and security risk for the entire internet. Wikimedia's General Counsel explains how SOPA would hurt wikis.
RWA would prohibit federal agencies from conditioning their grants to require that articles reporting on publicly funded research be made accessible to the public online. This is unjust and would specifically harm AcaWiki by greatly reducing the number of people with access to important literature — access is required to summarize. Please tell congresspeople to oppose RWA.

Summary:
This paper presents Cohere, a tool for argument mapping. It is presented in the context of Web2.0, as a simple, engaging tool for emergent structure and semantics. Cohere invites uers to express the connections between Ideas, which can be pulled in from elsewhere on the web, or embedded in other websites.
Cohere seems to grow out of earlier work on ClaiMaker from this lab, and uses the same underlying data model as Compendium. Data can be imported and exported in various formats, most particularly the Argument Interchange Format(AIF).
Theoretical and practical relevance:
Solving global problems is the motivation of this paper; progress in this area will help!
This paper provides a comprehensive discussion of existing argumentation tools (see page 4), indicating what they are lacking.
